U12 SSAF Basketball Championships Tournament
By Grade 6 Students
On February 17, the Grade 5 and 6 basketball players participated in a tournament. For some Linden athletes it was our first basketball tournament. We played our hardest. We scored well against a tough team in our first game. We passed very well and worked together as a team. At the end of the game we had 8 points! We cheered a lot and we are sure we were one of the loudest and most spirited teams there. In our second game we were really good at going on the offensive and we were super supportive of each other. We cheered our hardest until our throats were dry! At the end of the day we were tired out but very happy because we played hard and well. A big thank you to our amazing coaches and marvelous manager Anna. They were very supportive, helpful, and kept us on track!

The Grade 5 and 6 basketball team went to the U12 Co-ed Championships at the Hoop Dome on February 17. We faced some really tough teams but fought through all the challenges. Although we didn't win any of our games, we still had plenty of fun and are proud of how we played; after all, that's all that really matters. We also beat the record we set last year as Grade 5's in the U10 division. We beat it with one foul shot within 34 seconds left on the clock. The shot was taken by Nadia.
We would like to thank Shein and Forbes for coaching us, Soteira and our parents for supporting and taking pictures, Anna for managing to keep us organized, and all the athletes for working hard, encouraging each other, and participating in a fun sport. Overall the experience was SUPER FUN!
