International Women's Day: #MyFeminism
On March 8, the entire school marched around the neighbourhood, carrying signs promoting equity and peace for girls and women everywhere. What a great way to showcase Linden's mission and values amongst community members!
The following day, high school students Daragh, Edie, Mieko, Sarah, Sophia and Sophie represented Linden at the annual Toronto-St. Paul’s Summit for Young Women Leaders, organized by the Hon. Carolyn Bennett. The Summit was held at North Toronto Collegiate Institute and brought together young women from eleven different high schools along with five high-achieving, trailblazing women from different professional fields.
By connecting students with ambitious professional women who are leaders in their field, the Summit hopes to inspire students to take on leadership roles and continue the work of gender equality in their own lives. Event speakers included Dr. Sylvia Bashevkin, Deputy Minister Deborah Richardson-Goulais, TPS Constable Monica Rutledge, Tabatha Southey, and Shelley Laskin. Our thanks to Carolyn Bennett for organizing this fantastic event!
