Helping Our Neighbours at YWCA 1st Woodlawn Residence
By Lori O'Leary, Linden Teacher
On November 15, 2018, during our weekly All-School gathering, Linden Nation walked south to the beautiful, sprawling YWCA 1st Woodlawn residence to make a difference by cleaning up the grounds! Teachers and students worked hard raking up fall leaves and filled over 40 bags!
In their letter of thanks, the YWCA said, “We were so amazed by what your students were able to accomplish in just 45 minutes. Property Services said that if the Linden School didn't help us out each year, it would be up to them to rake the leaves — and it takes at least 10 hours for them to do the whole property! We also wanted to thank you for the thoughtful donations. The managers at Woodlawn were delighted to receive them and they said that the care packages will be wonderful gifts for the women departing the shelter.”
