Grade 7 Engineering Challenge
By Martha Muraira, Linden Teacher
The Grade 7 Science class has been busy enjoying a fun and engaging hands-on activity. We are working on the Form and Function unit, which involves solving different challenges. Last week's challenge was to build the tallest free-standing tower using marshmallow and toothpicks. The girls had to brainstorm on the design, taking into consideration the time available to them and the material constraints.
Linden prides itself on fostering and promoting STEM careers in our girls. The use of creative hands-on engineering activities helps them see the exciting ways science, technology, engineering, and math can help solve problems.
