Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Linden offering a summer program?
Mathematics has been and will always be a subject that will create a myriad of opportunities for our students and provide them with the tools necessary to succeed in our technology-driven world. The Linden School has decided to offer a program that will allow students to solidify their previous knowledge, get ahead, increase their confidence, and build solid mathematical skills that will last them their whole life. In addition, there has been much research in education on the issue of summer learning loss and Linden has decided to offer this program to tackle this. The teachers will be current Linden educators.
What subjects are covered?
The focus will be on mathematics, but other subjects may be available. Please contact us if you are interested in other subjects.
Who is this program for?
Linden students and friends of Linden community members are welcome to inquire.
Who are the educators?
Our educators are current Linden teachers who specialize in girl-centred learning and who understand the importance of warm, supportive instruction. When girls feel empowered to take risks, their skills, confidence, and enjoyment skyrocket. Concepts will be taught using a variety of methods, including hands-on materials and real-world connections.
How is the program structured?
The program will consist of 2 hours of synchronous classes plus additional asynchronous work to complete for the week. Students may register for as little as one week to a maximum of five weeks. Students will need to decide if they would rather work with the teacher 1:1 or 2:1 or 3:1.
Where and when will the program take place?
The program will run virtually through Zoom. The schedule will be created after registration. Once registered, the teacher will contact the student(s) to create together a working program schedule.
