Week 5: Week Without Walls
DAY ONE: Black Creek Community Farm
Smiles from G, A, and their grade 6 friend B while they patiently wait until their turn comes to help mix the ingredients for Bannock.
P and K get their hands messy mixing the wet and dry ingredients together.
G collects fallen branches and helps her group build a shelter.
K "rakes" the leaves into her group's shelter to use as flooring.
A and P take a quick break from gathering branches and enjoy their shelter together.
A gets some help from the older girls cutting apples to use to make cider.
G takes a turn cranking the cider press to squeeze the last little bit of juice out of the apples.
P and her older friend A cheers their ciders before tasting them.
K giggles all the way home from the farm. P, G, and M must have some great jokes up their sleeves!
DAY TWO: Flying Yoga
The girls warm up before their acro-yoga class with different full-body movements.
P and her sister G work together to hold a balance pose.
The secret to a good education is a strong foundation. Who knew yoga would be a workout for the teachers too?!
K stretches her leg out in the suspension sling.
DAY THREE: Art Gallery of Ontario & Grange Park
G and G take full advantage of this incredible playground at Grange Park.
P is adding some extra designs to her stamp before adding the paint.
G rolls paint onto her stamp to then make prints out of it.
After making prints and eating lunch, we went on a gallery tour. P and G learn about one of the photographers at the AGO.
K, G, and B hang on tight while they get pushed on this swing.
DAY FOUR: Ripley's Aquarium
M and A start making their aquariums by adding rocks and sand to the bottom of the tank.
K proudly shares her finished aquarium with me. She even added a self-made pineapple to the tank for shelter for the sea creatures.
G and S try to find their favourite fish in Rainbow Reef.
G doesn't want to leave because she hasn't found the puffer fish yet.
