Valentine's Day Fire: Thanking Our Firefighters
Many members of the Linden community will remember the six-alarm fire that took place at the Badminton and Tennis Club of Toronto on February 14, 2017. Clara, a student in Grade 5, proposed the idea of visiting the nearest fire station to thank the firefighters who fought the enormous blaze. With a little research, we found out which date the same crew would be on duty. On Tuesday, April 11, the Grade 5's and Early Learners baked a delicious batch of cookies and created thank you cards before walking over to Fire Station 311 on Balmoral Avenue. The firefighters were very appreciative of the gesture and invited the girls on a tour of the station.
