Congratulations to all the musicians who performed at Linden’s music night on April 17th. All the strings dazzled, especially the beginners — this was their second performance since taking up their instruments in September.

Original songs and arrangements were a special highlight. The grade 8 beginner strings class created their own arrangement of Apologize. Evy, grade 9, sang one of her own compositions. Leah, grade 7, sang Camouflage, a song she had written about betrayal.

Grade 6 students Francesca, Zoe, Vanessa and Ivy got the crowd rocking with an energetic performance of Bang Dem Sticks.

Linden’s grade 8 experienced string musicians performed a challenging piece written for a sophisticated orchestra. Beautiful vocals accompanied the Guitar Club’s performance of Breathing Underwater; Linden’s Choir’s hard work was very much in evidence as they treated the audience to a heartfelt performance.

The Linden Band played She’s Got her Ticket — everyone excelled, shout out to Danuvi who rocked the cello.

Principal Janice Gladstone capped off the evening with a powerful rendition of Blackbird.

Incoming students and their families remarked on the remarkable array of talent and skill showcased. Congratulations to all!
