Linden’s robust languages program showcased
On January 31, 2019, Linden's language students from Grades 3–11 displayed their developing language skills in French, Spanish and Latin through a wonderful array of media which included music, poetry, skits and even a fashion show.
The students translated and presented a Land Acknowledgement in all three languages to kick off the evening, including a very detailed segment by the grade 9 French class. After this, the presentations included the French song On Ecrit Sur Les Murs by the grades 3-6, self-composed skits by grade 7 core and extended French students, and an introduction to Linden by the grade 8 French class. These were followed by a beautiful reading of the Spanish poem Táctica y Estrategia by Mario Benedetti, a comedic fashion show telling the tales of the Trojan war in Latin and a fantastic version of Si on avait plus d'argent with unique versus composed by the Grade 10/11 French students!
It was a wonderful demonstration of the value and beauty of learning so many languages! Congratulations to all involved!
