Job Title: Digital Marketing and Communications Officer

Job Overview:
The Digital Marketing and Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and executing strategic digital marketing initiatives to enhance The Linden School's online presence, engage our community, and attract prospective families. This role involves creating compelling content, managing social media channels, maintaining the school’s website, and ensuring consistent brand messaging across all digital platforms. Additionally, the officer will handle graphic design and photography tasks to support various marketing efforts. The Digital Marketing and Communications Officer will report to the Director of Admissions and Community Relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned with the school’s goals and objectives.
- Analyze and report on the effectiveness of digital campaigns, using data-driven insights to refine and improve performance.
Content Creation and Management:
- Create, curate, and manage engaging content for the school’s website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other digital channels.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to generate authentic content highlighting school events, achievements, and unique programs.
Social Media Management:
- Oversee and grow The Linden School’s social media presence on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Develop and execute social media campaigns to drive engagement, reach, and follower growth.
Website Maintenance:
- Ensure the school’s website is up-to-date, user-friendly, optimized for search engines (SEO), and compliant with AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) standards.
- Work with external web developers as needed to implement new features and improvements.
Communications:
- Craft and distribute email newsletters, press releases, and other communications to parents, alumni, and stakeholders.
- Maintain consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all digital and print materials.
Graphic Design:
- Design visually appealing graphics for digital and print materials, including brochures, posters, social media posts, and website content.
- Ensure all design work aligns with the school’s brand guidelines and overall aesthetic.
Photography:
- Capture high-quality photographs of school events, activities, and everyday life to be used in marketing materials and on digital platforms.
- Maintain an organized archive of photographs for future use.
Event Promotion:
- Support the promotion of school events and activities through digital channels.
- Assist in the creation of promotional materials and online event registration systems.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to ensure cohesive messaging and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Participate in school events and activities to capture content and engage with the school community.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall marketing and communications efforts of The Linden School.
- Occasional coverage for the receptionist, including handling incoming calls, greeting visitors, and managing front desk operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in digital marketing and communications, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems (CMS), email marketing tools, and SEO best practices.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (social media management, email marketing, content management systems).
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Hiring Range: $55,000 - $65,000
This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of renewal.
