Identité et Multiculturalisme: Winning Video!
By Anne Van Burek, French Teacher
Last June, our Grade 11 French students submitted a video for the Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) “Youth Video Challenge.” Bianca, Eliana, Hailey, and Maud created the script, filmed it, and provided subtitles for their work, “Identité et multiculturalisme.” The video was selected as 1 of 3 winners nationwide and was featured at this year’s national conference, which had as its theme “Realizing an Inclusive Canada: 2017 and Beyond.” The event was held last week at the Japanese Cultural Centre.
As Prime Minister Trudeau said in his letter to the Conference: “The CRRF acts as a leading voice in the effort to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination. Every year, the Foundation highlights initiatives that represent Canadian models of diversity and inclusion.” We were honoured to be part of such a great initiative.
Congratulations Linden girls!
