Fall 2017 SSAF Elementary Indoor Soccer Tournament
By Sophie Quastel, Grade 10
The Junior Soccer Team was so great this year. Beyond playing amazing, they worked so well together, and it was great to see them all grow into amazing players. As a student coach, I had such a fun time coaching them, and I loved having the opportunity to get to know each and every one of them a little better. They all showed amazing leadership, dedication, motivation, and sportsmanship throughout the season.
The tournament was a great success. We played a total of five games. Our first game was very tough. We were facing a very fierce team who put on a hard offense. Our girls really stepped up and managed to get on their level. The team played amazing the second game and the motivation we saw throughout the entire day with our young athletes was very inspiring to see. As we made it into the playoff round, the Linden Nation spirit kept on growing and our level of play kept on rising.
By the end of the day, I was so pleased and proud of all the girls on the team. They worked so well together and their spirit was nothing like I’ve ever seen. It was so meaningful to have this coaching experience and I cannot wait until the outdoor season in May!
Thanks to all the players: Inty, Serena, Sam, Carly, Evy, Ady, Amina, Hannah, Chloe, Clare, Fei, Kaleda, and Minali
