April 3, 2020 GLOBAL (ONLINE!) CLIMATE ACTION

Join Linden today and take action online for the climate!
Our big plans to join the protest at Queen’s Park had to be put on hold, but students are encouraged to use their voices to participate in digital alternatives to the climate strike.

STEP 1:

Learn about the demands for the Green New Decade
Find Fridays for Future Toronto on Instagram (@fridaysforfutureto), Twitter (@TOforfuture), Facebook, or their website, and learn more about their intersectional approach
to climate justice:
  • Indigenous Self-Determination
  • Defending Land, Water, and Life
  • Zero-Carbon Economy
  • Separation of Oil and State
  • A Just Transition
  • Universal Public Services and Infrastructure
  • Justice for Migrants and Refugees
  • Livable Futures for All

STEP 2:

Share a pic of your #climatestrikeonline
Feeling creative? Make a digital or physical protest sign, and post it online with #climatestrikeonline (don’t forget to tag Linden!) You can also just post a pic of you looking fierce. Be sure to include why you are participating in the online action and what demands are most important to you. Then, tag a friend whose climate art you want to see, and encourage them to post as well!

STEP 3:

Knock on some digital doors
Head to www.fridaysforfutureto.org/about and check out the dozens of petitions you can sign in order to support FFF’s demands. Learn more about the digital call to action, and sign the petitions that matter to you.
Take up the chant and join today’s action! Our community may be dispersed; but together our voices are powerful.
