Thank you Grade 6 and Linden community

Led by Savannah Barker’s Grade 6s, Linden participated in a YWCA All-School on Wednesday, November 18. Just after lunch, students in JK through Grade 7 bundled up and ventured out to help the YWCA Woodlawn with its fall clean-up.

Our generous community members made numerous tangible contributions to the Grade 6 students’ donation drive. Thanks to you, The Linden School donated over 650 items, including books, new clothes, and a large assortment of toiletries and household items.

Our hard-working students spent the afternoon raking up all the leaves that had fallen over the autumn season. In the end, we packed up 73 bags of leaves to be composted from the YWCA rec yard. “We’re so proud of all the hard work our students did to help show that The Linden School cares about the community around us,” said Grade 6 teacher Savannah.

YWCA Woodlawn is a charitable organization that advocates for marginalized and disadvantaged women and girls, providing employment support, housing options and shelters, leadership development programs and key supports for women and children who have experienced violence.
