The Environment Club Launches Community Challenge: Coffee Cup Free Zone!

Establishing Coffee Cup Free Zones!

This year our Environment Club has focused on the use and disposal of coffee cups. We have found out that there are 16 steps to making a coffee cup from extraction to disposal! In all of these steps, many natural resources are used. We learned the shocking fact that 1.6 billion coffee cups end up in Canadian landfills every year! The club shared this information with the rest of the Linden community by making school announcements and posters asking our community to take the challenge and REFUSE SINGLE USE! We hope that our Linden families and community members will also consider taking on this challenge.
