Linden’s First Annual Poetry Slam

The Grade 12 English class hosted Linden’s first annual Poetry Slam on Monday night, April 27, at our annual Art Show. A poetry slam is a competition where poets present original pieces in front of an audience and receive a numeric score for their performance. The poems explored topics ranging from biracial identity, to self-love, change and the power of language. The event was a huge success and the crowd was in awe of the talent, creativity and courage of the students who performed.
