This year Linden's Grade 10, 11, and 12 physical health education (HPE) students were fortunate to take part in the launch of Ontario Wheelchair Sports Association's EnAbling Change program! During the week, HPE students used a day wheelchair to attend classes and try and navigate Linden hallways and washrooms on the third floor. Needless to say, it was an eye-opening experience that brought much-needed awareness about the daily accessibility and inclusion challenges faced by individuals with physical disabilities.

In addition, one of EnAbling Change's goals is to highlight and raise awareness about adaptive sport and para-athletes. On, Thursday, Sept 29, Linden athletes were inspired and motivated to hear Danny Bigu speak about his journey and his current quest for gold in Tokyo 2020's wheelchair basketball tournament. Danny also put the girls through their paces in sports wheelchairs with drills that honed their speed, strength, and dexterity on the court. It was an incredible experience that made memories our athletes will dearly cherish.

Stay tuned for our upcoming fundraiser to benefit the Ontario Wheelchair Sports Association at our annual staff vs. student basketball extravaganza on Thursday, December 1 during All-School! Let's donate what we can to an amazing organization.
