
Diane
Goudie has over thirty years of educational experience,
both as a teacher and administrator within the public and
independent school systems. Her commitment throughout her
academic and professional career to the education and growth
of young women led to her co-founding The Linden School.
Eleanor
Moore brings thirty years of experience as a teacher,
guidance counsellor and administrator in an independent girls
school. As a co-founder of The Linden School, Eleanor is passionate
about making a difference for women.
Diane
de Camps Meschino is a psychiatrist, with a specialty
in women's mental health, at the University of Toronto. She
developed and leads a reproductive mental health programme
consisting of treatment, prevention, education and research.
The programme incorporates, supports and is informed by the
cultural discourse on girls, women, motherhood and the communication
of these through parenting. She brings with her experience
as a member of numerous health care strategic planning committees.
Her two daughters are long-standing Linden School students.
Farida
Sheralam - Farida previously worked at Linden for
many years, helping the school advance its marketing and admissions
goals through a variety of initiatives. Although she moved
on to expand her career as a Communications Specialist and
Freelance Graphic Designer, Linden has remained close to her
heart. Farida is passionate about peace, social justice and
Muslim womens rights and access to education and healthcare,
especially in war-torn regions around the world.
Judith Cowper Szamosi - Judith is a Linden alumna. In the 12 years since she left the school, she has stayed involved in the Linden community in multiple roles, as a tutor, administrative assistant and general gofer, and now as a member of the Board of Trustees. She has a B.Sc. in Biology and is currently working on a Master's in Computational Biology and Biostatistics at McMaster University, and she has spent several years volunteering for organizations that support LGBTQ youth in Montreal. She is thrilled to offer her voice to the Board as an expert on Linden culture and the Linden community, and privileged to work with such a talented and inspiring group.
Kaya
Tache-Green - Kaya is a secondary math teacher and
a founding daughter of Linden. Having taught math in Egypt
and West Africa, she now teaches in the Toronto District School
Board while working on a Master's in Mathematics for Teachers.
Kaya has been on the Linden board (with a hiatus to teach
overseas) for several years and enjoys her continued to connection
to her first community of learners.
Kimberley
Noble is a magazine writer and investigative financial
journalist. After 15 years at the Globe and Mail's Report
on Business, she became National Business Correspondent for
Maclean's magazine. A four-time National Newspaper Award nominee
who won twice, she now teaches journalism at the University
of Guelph-Humber and Humber College. Kimberley is the proud parent of
two Linden graduates, who are both currently demonstrating
how valuable a Linden education can be at university.
Lori
Newton has held a variety of senior positions within the Ontario Public Service involving labour relations, equality rights, access to justice and administration. Prior to moving into government, Lori practiced labour and employment law in Toronto. She is currently Special Counsel to the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Courts Services Division at the Ministry of the Attorney General. Lori was an active member and Co-Chair of the Withrow Childcare Centre for many years. Her daughter is happily in high school at Linden and is a long-standing member of the school community.
Ottie
Lockey is an arts consultant, working with artists and
arts companies in Canada, the United States and Europe. From
1981 to 2000 she was Managing Director of Tafelmusik and produced
over 90 orchestral tours during that period. Ottie taught
a course in the Schulich School of Business MBA program for
5 years and frequently mentors young arts administrators and
emerging arts leaders. She has received several awards including
the 2006 National Arts Centre Award for Distinguished Contribution
to Touring. Ottie and her life partner Eve Zaremba have been
supporters of the Linden School since its earliest days, and
Ottie's god-daughter Sine Hempel (who lives in Berlin) is
a great Linden fan!
Rusty
Shteir is a Professor in Women's Studies and Humanities
at York University. Her research is in the area of women and
the cultural history of science. Rusty is a Founding Parent
of Linden and has been a member of the Board of Trustees for
a number of years.
Pippa Shaddick - Pippa Shaddick has held several positions in the not-for-profit sector for almost twenty years, including working in the immigrant community and most recently fundraising project management and donor relations in the arthritis community. She has worked for Toronto, provincial and national organizations. Pippa has experience as a volunteer, both as a committee member and board member; including Kensington Community Daycare Centre, Kensington Community School, Access Alliance Community Health Centre, Toronto People with AIDS Foundation, Scouts Canada Foundation, and now The Linden School Board of Trustees.
George Thomson has over 30 years experience in Business and Sales,both in Canada and the U.K.,ultimately being a Partner in a Toronto-owned business for many years.He has 2 daughters currently attending Linden,one in high-school,one in middle-school and has been a Parent/Volunteer at Linden for 8 years.
