Cartoon Capers - March 11, 2010
Pebbles Flintstone, Elmer Fudd and Superwoman
were all on hand yesterday for the third day of our annual
Spirit Week.
A couple of the great costumes our girls
put together:

Characters from TV and Silver Screen -
March 10, 2010
There were many more wonderful costumes
on display on Tuesday, March 9, the second day of our annual
Spirit Week. The girls had tonnes of fun guessing the characters
the costumes of the students - and teachers - represented.
The whole school also came together at lunchtime
for the second in a series of Spirit Week activities planned
by the grade 12s. Using the props provided to them by the
grade 12 girls, each class created a quick trailer for an
imaginary movie and acted it out for the rest of our community.
The results were invariably creative - and hilarious!
Here are a few pictures of the great costumes
we saw yesterday:

Welcome to Hollywood - March 9, 2010
Monday, March 8, marked the first day of
our 2010 Spirit Week, organized and run by our grade 12 class.
The theme for this year's event is Hollywood; each day of
the week has its own mini-theme within this larger theme,
providing inspiration for costumes and activities for that
day.
On Monday, the theme of the day was the
2010 Oscars - the films, the characters, the actors and the
actresses. Our girls got really creative with this theme,
and there were lots of amazing costumes.
Check out the pictures from Monday's festivities,
and stay tuned throughout the week for more!

A Cornucopia of Careers - March 4, 2010
On Wednesday, March 3, 20 presenters visited
Linden to give our girls a taste of some of the myriad careers
they could pursue at our annual Career Day.
The careers represented were as varied as
the interests of Linden students, ranging from biomedical
engineer to TV producer to Greenpeace activist. Here are just
a few of the things our students got up to as Career Day unfolded:
- Writing articles and taking photos for a mock newspaper
spread with the guidance of a newspaper editor;
- Learning and practicing the acting technique of Repetition
from an actress and playwright;
- Getting a first-hand look at some of the tools and techniques
used by an emergency room doctor; and
- Producing short audio and video segments with the help
of audio and video engineers.
